Students need to bring their instrument to school every day next week. We will be practicing for the parade every first recess all next week!
The Dress code for all performances are black pants and the MATES official blue polo shirt and Santa Hat. Students should also wear a pair of comfortable black shoes. Any black tennis shoes are fine.
Here is the info for the Camarillo Christmas Parade:
Students will need to arrive at the corner of Eston St. and Ponderosa Dr. and meet in the old Camarillo Library parking lot @ 8:30 am.
Allow for extra time because of all the road closures. Students will need to have their instruments and be dressed in their official MATES blue polo shirts, black pants, black shoes and a santa hat. All black tennis shoes are good Students must leave their instrument cases with their parents. The parade will start at 10:00 am.
The parade will finish at the corner of Burnley and Carmen. I will stay with the students at the corner of Burnley and Carmen until all students are pickup. Feel free to stay for the Santa’s Village Holiday Carnival at the Community Center after the parade. The
carnival ends at 4:00 pm.
If you would like to walk the parade with the students, please contact me by Friday, December 7th.
We will need help with water bottles and with percussion equipment. If you have a wagon that would be great!
Once the parents have dropped their child off, they can park at: Camarillo City Hall at the corner of Carmen Drive & Paseo Camarillo.
Directions: To get there, parent will turn right from Eston onto Ponderosa. Turn Right on Adolfo. Turn right on Lewis. Turn right on Dailey. Turn Right on Carmen and left on Paseo Camarillo. They will park at City Hall and walk one block north to the Camarillo Community Center.
This parking suggestion will put you in close proximity to the corner of Burnley and Carmen drive. Of course you may park at another location if you want to see the kids towards the beginning of the parade. I recommend having some bottle water handy at the end of the parade. The students will be thirsty.
I hope you can join us for these festive holiday concerts.
